Born in Bordeaux, Patrick Tauma grew up playing on the clay courts of France. He realized at an early age that he
had a natural teaching and coaching ability. Patrick started professionally coaching in 1994 with brother
Olivier Tauma who reached a career high 548 ATP ranking and Top 10 NCAA ranking. Patrick went on to coach
Thierry Guardiola (Ranked 106 ATP), Hicham Arazi (Ranked 22 ATP), Younes El Aynaoui (Ranked 14 ATP),
Selina Sfar (Ranked 110 WTA), Olivier Patience (Ranked 87 ATP), and Gael Monfils (Ranked 23rd ATP).
Well known among ATP and WTA players, Patrick has played and worked out with Serena Williams,
Venus Williams, Jennifer Capriati, Nathalie Dechy, Amelie Mauresmo, Anna Kournikova, Monica Seles,
Martina Hingis, Elena Dementieva, Dinara Safina and many others.
Patrick carries a Professional Rating on all five sections of PTR Certification Testing and is also
Certified BEES 1st degree (French tennis certification organization). He has taught at the Open Gaz de France’s
Tournament, Stade Francais, Randy Mani Tennis Academy, and the ISP Tennis Academy. Patrick was also the
Padel Champion of France from 1994-2000.
Patrick is quickly becoming know in San Diego as the coach with the most. His teaching style is focused on the
importance of balance, footwork, and consistency. He achieves this through a series of unique drills and enthusiastic
instruction.
